Why does the label say “Schizochytrium sp.”?Updated 2 hours ago

That's the scientific name of the microalgae our omega-3 comes from. Schizochytrium is a marine microalga that naturally produces EPA and DHA, the very omega-3s fish get by eating algae like it. Naming the species is part of being transparent about exactly where the oil originates: this is the original source of marine omega-3, without the fish in the middle.
